We have had some questionable trades recently, for example one player dumping a bunch of resource cards (usually five) to another player to avoid the potential of the robber, only to reclaim them rounds later, with the interim holding player retaining some small number of cards (usually one) as payment or interest.
Another has been blackmailing someone into bogus trades, or staking claims on future resources (usually one of the two that would have been collected via city) under threat of hitting their zone with the robber.
What do you think? I believe that all forms of trades and interactions between players are reasonable, but does any of this strike you as against the rules or at least against the spirit of the game?

I think that is sort of the natural progression of players learning the game and how to trade. I always hate it when others do it but can't find a reason they are not allowed. The rules do specifically say you can't trade development cards, but everything you mentioned is legal!
